Welcome to the KEYCOG website. KEYCOG are made up of a group of people from Christian denominations and organisations who work together to support, equip, resource and train Children's and Youth leaders in churches and organisations in the county of Kent.

Training

We offer a training course called Building Foundations for adults working with children and young people in churches. We also hold an annual training day called 'Toolbox'. We have also developed a new training course for young people as leaders called: Building Foundations: the next generation. This will be launched in 2007.

Building Foundations Course 2008 at St. Martin's Church in Eynsford.

Building Foundations is a training course for volunteer youth and children’s workers. It is a six week course tutored by the Kent Ecumenical Youth & Children’s Officer Group (KEYCOG).

The course covers topics from Good Practice, Programming, Youth & Children’s Culture to Youth & Children’s Development. If you would like a course to run in your church or area, then please get in touch through the number below. 

There is a course being run at Temple Hill Church in Temple Hill, Dartford. Each session begins at 7pm and end by 9pm. The cost of this course is £20 per person.

Toolbox the Conference is here again!

Toolbox the conference is going to Broadstairs this Spring!

St. George's School, Broadstairs

Toolbox the conference is a day of training, worship and teaching organised by KEYCOG, the Kent Ecumenical Youth & Children’s Officers Group. This year the conference will be held at St. George’s School in Broadstairs on Saturday 8th March. The day will begin at 9.30am and end by 4.30pm.

The day will be filled with a choice of 29 workshops, keynote speakers, worship, tea and coffee and lots of resource stands. Our theme this year is “Connecting with Communities” and we have two keynote speakers joining us: Lucy Moore and Paul Sanderson MBE. Lucy works for Bible Reading Fellowship as their Children’s Ministry Representative for the South of England and Paul Sanderson is the Southern Regional Development Manager for Spurgeons Child Care and The Salvation Army.

The cost for the day is £15, but if you book for January 21st it will cost only £10, so get your bookings in! The closing date for bookings is February 14th.

Building Foundations Course for Young People 2008

KEYCOG have written a tailor made course for young people aged 14 to 18 who are engaged in volunteering in youth & children's work in their church. We had a successful launch in 2007 with an incredible group of young people.

We are planning another course this Autumn and will start with a weekend residential on the 3rd to 5th October. We will be going to St. Bartz, a youth residential centre in Sussex. The course is four modules, and module one will be completed over the weekend. The cost of the whole course is £50 which includes the cost of the weekend, all course materials, refreshments and meals for the weekend.

Module Three:           Relationships
Module Four:             Spirituality

KEYCOG Meetings

The KEYCOG group meet four times a year and have one retreat day. This is our opportunity to support one another in our county/Diocesan wide roles and to develop the work we do as KEYCOG and youth and children's officers.
